He Liao Diao is the last known descendent of the Kyuumei Mountain Tribe, which was destroyed in the war with Yang Duanhe, king of the Qin mountains. As a result of this, she moved to Kokuhi village, a place of outlaws in which she eventually encounters and befriends Ying Zheng and Li Xin. She becomes an expert in blowing poisonous needles using a hollow bamboo stem acquired following the defeat of the assassin Muta by Xin. It is initially assumed by Xin, Zheng and Bi that Diao is a boy, however it is revealed early on that she is a girl after she is wounded in a skirmish with their pursuers....
