The protagonist of Muv-Luv. Takeru is popular and a fairly intelligent, but lazy student. Despite his laziness, Takeru is the kind of person who won't leave those in trouble or depending on him no matter what. He's called the "Love Nucleus" by Kouzuki-sensei, because of all the bizarre things that happen to him. He spends his days teasing and fighting his childhood friend Sumika, and his other close friends, Mikoto, Kei, Chizuru and Miki. When a strange girl his age appears in his home, his relatively ordinary life begins to change rapidly.
